Fascial Elasticity
Webinar 2024/11/23
Spring, Power Amplification & Light-footed Landing
Unlock the potential of your inner spring through fascial elasticity, adding lightness to your step and efficiency to your running, jumping, and throwing. This natural mood booster amplifies your overall movement capacity along with a body-based feeling of positivity!
Elastic mechanisms within fascia are essential for optimal physical functionality in everyday life and sports. Still, it might come as a surprise that our bodies are equipped with millions of multidirectionally oriented inner springs, varying in size from relatively large to tiny.
In this webinar, we will explore fascial elasticity and how to train it through a conceptual framework that distinguishes 3 muscle-tendon interaction patterns: rhythmical spring, power amplification, and dampening. Besides mind-expanding theory, you can look forward to a functional sequence of bouncing, swinging, and spiralling Slings Myofascial Training exercises and a deep dive into a select few to embody the 3 elastic mechanisms of fascia even more deeply. Get ready to enhance your inner spring and experience a novel feeling of buoyancy!

During the webinar, Karin will be using massage balls and encourages participants to have their own to practice along. She recommends 2 air-filled massage balls about 10-12 cm in diameter – the balls should depress when squeezed. If you can find ones with nubs on them it is great, but that is tertiary…the most important is air filled about 10-12 cm and depresses when squeezed. (example here)
The webinar will be taught in English with live Japanese translation provided by Kaori Tani. Here is an example of how it will flow:
